StinkyKid Britt never gets in trouble and loves making everyone happy! She's convinced her parents to take her friends Max, Hannah, Jen, Johnny, and Billy to the opening of the new MegaJumper 3000. But when Britt gets a massive wad of gum stuck in her hair, she must rely on her friends to help her get out of the sticky situation before her parents find out and cancel the trip! STINKYKIDS, THE MUSICAL is based on the award-winning StinkyKids ® books and StinkyKids ® characters: little stinKers who learn to make right choices through their childhood mistakes and live by the motto "Always be a leader of good."®



Daniel S. Acquisto (Music) has penned many award-winning musicals with lyricist Sammy Buck: Like You Like It (Playscripts, 2009 NYIT Award: Best Musical); The 7-Year B*tch; Vital Theatre's StinkyKids® The Musical (TRW, 2012 Off-Broadway Alliance Award: Best Family Show), The Frog & The Witch and Matthew Takes Mannahatta (book by Aurin Squire); music for Barry The Hatchet, ballet Andy Warhol Was Right (NYMF), and currently working on Ugly. Apart from Sammy, Daniel has written music and lyrics for over fourteen children's musicals for The Kaufman Center; rock musical Antigone (Studio Arena), Jeffry Denman's Dancing In The Dark, ballet Wild About Harry (NYMF), Raw Impressions, A-Train Plays, P.O.W. (an electronic-music oratorio). Non-theatre commissions: Redheads Anonymous web series, Audubon Trail (USAF Clarinet Quartet), Sing No Sad Songs For Me (Shawnee Press), feature-length film Fade To White, as well as other short films. Awards (with Sammy Buck): Dottie Burman Songwriting Award (2012), Talkin' Broadway Summer Festival Citation Best New Musical (2007), Cardiff Global Musicals Search Winner (2006), New Voices Prize (2005), and a Dramatists Guild's Jonathan Larson Fellow (2003). Sammy Buck (Book and Lyrics) has written seven shows with composer Dan Acquisto, most notably Like You Like It (Playscripts, 2009 NYIT Award: Best Musical) and StinkyKids® The Musical (Vital, TRW, 2012 Off-Broadway Alliance Award: Best Family Show). With composer Brandon James Gwinn, he is the co-lyricist/bookwriter of Small Town Story (Richard Rodgers Award Finalist, NY Theatre Barn commission, Village Theatre's Festival of New Musicals, NAMT Writers Residency Grant). He also wrote the book of Leonard Bernstein's Cast Party (Roundabout), the horror movie Red Hook (Phase 4 Films), two dance musicals for NYMF and a circus. He's currently working on a new project with composer Jeff Thomson. His songs have been heard in concerts at 54 Below, the Laurie Beechman Theatre, the Duplex, New World Stages, Barrington Stage, Merkin Hall and L.A.'s Rockwell Stage. Sammy is also an Emmy® winner for his work with and the creator of Structure! The Musical or Everything You Need to Know About Musicals You Can Learn From Star Wars. Michael Schloegl (Director/Choreographer) is one of the founding members of Vital Theatre Company. His original show, Three Bears and A Babe, started the first Vital children's theatre season. He works regionally as a director-choreographer (Footloose, Grease, Bring it On!, All Shook Up, Legally Blonde, Saturday Night Fever). Michael is also a costume designer, playwright, and a children's book author/illustrator. His original writing credits include: It's Up In the Air!, Calling All Toys, The Chrismouse Story and the school musical touring show, History Time Henry. He has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe in shows such as: West Side Story, Oklahoma, The Will Rogers Follies, and A Chorus Line. As a theatre educator, he directs musical theatre shows and master classes for students throughout the New York tristate area and Canada.

Britt Menzies (Author/creator) is the author of the award-winning StinkyKids book series. Britt, her husband Mark and the original 'little stinKers', Max (son) and Emma (daughter) live in Atlanta, GA with their bulldog named Pudgy. Britt is a graduate of Florida State University and enjoyed her career at The Coca-Cola Company before becoming an entrepreneur. Today, StinkyKids is a successful children’s brand built around 10 diverse characters which includes apparel, books, dolls, bicycles/tricycles and the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Best Family Show: StinkyKids, The Musical. Britt is currently working on creating the StinkyKids animated series along with expanding the brand’s licensing program.

Kyle Dixon (Set Design) A Kentucky native and graduate of Morehead State University, Kyle Dixon has been a freelance scenic artist/designer in New York for over eight years. From stage to showrooms, he has worked across Manhattan, as well at various theatres in the Southeast. Recent favorite designs include Angelina Ballerina, The Musical (Off-Broadway, Toronto, Nation Tour), Growing Up 70's, starring Barry Williams, a.k.a. Greg Brady (Off-Broadway), Aspern Papers (Off-Broadway), South Pacific, Shakespeare and Love (directed by Jane McCullough) The Crucible, Zombie Prom, Twelfth Night, and Bat Boy. His scenic artwork may be seen across the country, from the stage of The Lost Colony on Roanoke Island, NC to the Bellagio Conservatory in Las Vegas.

Kaitlyn Day (Costumes) is a native of Queens, NY. She recently graduated with her Master's Degree in Costume Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is currently an assistant on School of Rock the Musical (designed by Anna Louizos) and An American in Paris (deigned by Bob Crowley) both on Broadway. She previously designed Grinder's Stand at the Bridge Street Theatre.

Anessa Marie (Music Director) is a music director, pianist, composer, and orchestrator based in the NYC area. For Vital Theatre Company, she has served as music director for Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas, The Bully, and Twinkle Tames a Dragon. Favorite New York and regional credits include Parade, The Last Five Years, Seussical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Into the Woods, The Robber Bridegroom, and Songs For a New World. She is the composer of Transitions: a Song Cycle, the recording of which will be released in late 2017, and In Search Of..., a new musical to receive its first reading in 2017 as well. As a performer, favorite credits include The Rocky Horror Show (Frankenfurter), Cabaret (Kit Kat Girl), and Godspell (Jesus). Non-theatrically, Anessa is the founder and director of Beyond Gender Love Transcends, a non-profit organization benefiting the transgender and gender non-conforming community. Frances Hughes (Production Stage Manager) graduated from SUNY Buffalo State with a B.A. in theater. Frances has been stage managing since 2011 with recent credits including Pinkalicious (Vital Theatre Company) and Flight School (Vital Theatre Company). She also stage managed the national tours of Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas (Vital) and Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy the Musical (Bay Area Children's Theatre). Frances loves working in family theatre and hopes everyone enjoys the show!


Alexa Lebersfeld (Britt) is thrilled to return to Vital this year after touring as Nancy in Fancy Nancy's Splendiferous Christmas last holiday season. She is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory where some of her favorite credits include The Pajama Game (Mabel) and Legally Blonde (Margot). Much love to the whole family: grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, Mom, Dad, and Jenna. Love to BoCo and FwF. Love to this cast and crew for the blast it's been bein' stinky!!

Sarah Beth Odle (Jen) is excited to be making her Off-Broadway debut in StinkyKids The Musical. Originally from Marion, IL, Sarah received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Millikin University. Favorite credits include Spring Awakening (Wendla), Cinderella (Queen), Sweet Smell of Success (Ensemble), HAIR! (Crissy). Many thanks to Holly Buczek and Vital Theatre Company for this opportunity. Jasmin Malave (Hannah) is so excited to be making her debut with the Vital Theatre Company in StinkyKids The Musical! Originally from Fountain Hills, AZ, Jasmin has spent the last 8 years in NYC and studied with the Atlantic Theater School. Favorite regional credits include: Miss Saigon (Gigi), Wiseacre Farm (Foxy/Cliffie the Pig), Hairspray (Little Inez), Lam-Ang; The Journey of a Hero, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and The Addam’s Family Musical. She’d like to thank the whole cast and crew, as well as her friends, family, and teachers for their continued support and love!

Stephen Hohendorf (Max) Originally from Grand Rapids, MI. Stephen is extremely excited to be making his Vital Theatre debut! National Tours: The Full Monty (NETworks), Sesame Street Live! (VEE Corp). New York: MRT, MCTC, Grex Group, MuSE. Regional: Arizona Broadway Theatre, Ft. Peck Summer Theatre, The Liberty Theatre, Carrnivale Theatrics, Pittsburgh Playhouse. Jr., Hope Summer Rep. Cole Smith (Johnny) is delighted to be joining the Vital Theatre family for StinkyKids! Originally from Albany, OR, Cole is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. Favorite regional credits include The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow),Bring It On (Randall),13 the Musical (Archie), Oliver! (Artful Dodger) and James and the Giant Peach (James). Cole sends many thanks to the cast, crew, and his immensely supportive and wonderful family back in Oregon!

Ramón Guzman (Billy) is excited to be joining StinkyKids at Vital Theatre. Ramón is a Brooklyn native who received his BFA in Acting/ Musical Theater from Marymount Manhattan College. He also studied aboard for a summer in Oxford at The British American Drama Academy. Favorite credits include 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Mitch Mahoney), Oliver! (Fagin), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey II) Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens (directed by Bill Russell). He would like to thank God above all else.
